Next Ketamine Retreat January 24-26, 2025
Where our ketamine assisted therapy retreats take place?
Our house of healing is nestled on 19 expansive acres of land in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley in Maurertown, VA — just 90 minutes outside of Washington, DC.
The retreat program:
Our retreats at Roots & Wings Integrative Healing are thoughtfully structured to guide participants through a holistic journey of self-discovery and connection. Over three days, we blend grounding practices, intentional rituals, and communal experiences to foster transformation and integration.
On Day 1, participants arrive to a warm welcome, beginning with a circle to build connection and set intentions. After a grounding session, the first dosing session unfolds, followed by a break with light refreshments. The day continues with a community connection activity, an integration circle, and a shared meal, concluding with a reflective sharing circle to prepare for restful integration.
Day 2 deepens the journey with an optional morning movement session, followed by arrival, reflections, and grounding rituals to set the stage for the day’s dosing session. Afterward, participants enjoy another community connection activity, integration circle, and shared meal, ending with an evening sharing circle and gentle transition into rest.
On Day 3, the focus shifts toward integration and closure. An optional morning movement session precedes the final welcome and integration circle. Participants gather for a community meal and a closing ritual that honors the journey and transitions them back into daily life, departing with a sense of connection and renewal.

Program cost:
We are committed to making this powerful healing modality as accessible as possible, and one of the myriad benefits of a group retreat model is that one’s investment (time, money, energy) stretches further in this format.
- Initial exploration call with a Roots & Wings therapist: Free
- Journey Clinical medical consultation & ketamine prescription: $338 (*possible partial OON reimbursement*)
- 1:1 preparation session with a Roots & Wings therapist: $200
- Group virtual prep session, 3-day KAT experience, & nourishing meals $1,350

Lodging:
Currently, there is no overnight lodging available at the retreat location. However, there are several nearby options, including hotels, Airbnb, and VRBO accommodations. We recommend securing lodging in Strasburg, VA, located approximately 20 minutes from the retreat site.
Transportation:
Transportation to and from the retreat will be managed by a professional driving service. If you are lodging more than 20 minutes away from the retreat or outside of Strasburg, VA, you may use Uber at your own expense. In certain situations, facilitators may assist by driving participants to their lodging. Participants are encouraged to drive to the retreat, leave their vehicles on-site, and depart on their own after the third day.
Food and nourishment:
Each day we will come together as a group to share a meal, fostering connection and community. To ensure a safe and comfortable experience during dosing sessions, participants are required to refrain from consuming food or liquids, aside from small amounts of water, on dosing days (Days 1 and 2). Ketamine, like other psychedelics, can occasionally cause dizziness, nausea, or, in rare cases, vomiting, so having an empty stomach is essential.
Throughout the retreat, a variety of snacks, coffee, and tea will be readily available, so there’s no need to purchase additional food. While you may feel hungry in the morning, a nourishing soup will be served as soon as your dosing session concludes. Though your typical eating schedule may be temporarily disrupted, we’ve ensured there will be plenty of delicious options to keep you satisfied and supported during your stay.
How do I prepare and what should I bring?
We guide each participant through a thorough preparation process, including an initial exploration call, a medical consultation, a 1:1 preparation session with a therapist, and a group preparation meeting before the retreat experience. This ensures you arrive feeling grounded and ready. During these connection points, we will discuss both process-based and logistical details so you have all of the vital information that helps you know what to expect and prepare accordingly.
